BEGINNING OF TOUR

We begin the tour at our visitor center in the courtyard on the right, where the brewery's bottling plant used to be. You'll be greeted by a guide who will briefly introduce the site and outline the tour. To start, there will be a short video presentation about the history of the brewery and the preservation efforts of exhibits and technologies from closed breweries.

MALTHOUSE
LARGE MALTING FLOOR

The first part of our brewery exhibition awaits you in the malthouse. We'll introduce you to the malting process and the technologies used for germinating malt. You'll see our brewery carts, malting tools, mechanization for malting, and the steeping tank.

MALTHOUSE
SMALL MALTING FLOOR

In the space of our small malting floor, you'll have the opportunity to view two important malting exhibits. The first is a late Renaissance stone steeping tank from the demolished brewery in Červené Záhoří. The second is an air-piston compressor used for aerating soaked barley.

⨳04

MALTHOUSE LOFTS

The loft of our malthouse will provide you with the opportunity to learn about the malt transport technology in the brewery and view our hundred-year-old, still functional blower from Alois Gracias brand in Brno-Žabovřesky.

⨳05

MALTHOUSE KILN

In the malt kiln, we'll delve deeper into the process of barley drying and explain what the "brewery swines" are. You'll also see our functional historical barley deculmers.

⨳06

BREWERY LOFT

You will be guided through our brewery loft, from the malthouse to the area above the brewhouse. Along the way, you'll see several small exhibits related to malt production and brewing wort.

⨳07

BREWHOUSE LOFT

In the area of the brewhouse loft, you'll find brewery technologies that typically precede the mashing process. Here, you'll see a malt mill, an elevator for transporting malt, and a hot water tank. Additionally, we exhibit functional barley cleaners used during grain intake for malting.

COOLING ENGINE ROOM

The cooling engine room houses two large machines that served in the brewery's refrigeration system. The main one is a giant ammonia refrigeration compressor manufactured by Českomoravská Kolben & Daněk in 1936.

BREWHOUSE
ENGINE ROOM

In the engine room below our brewhouse, we will introduce you to the technology of pumps and an exhibit of a Bosch compressor, manufactured by Linde with an engine from Škoda Plzeň, saved in 2004.

⨳10

BOILER ROOM

Here, we will introduce you to our unique direct firewood-heated brew kettle and a steam engine located in the boiler room beneath the brewhouse. You will also learn about the historical energy and raw material demands of brewing beer.

⨳11

BREWHOUSE

We will show you the heart of our brewery - the brewhouse, built together with the original brewery between 1839-1841 and significantly modernized during the First Republic era. Its uniqueness lies in the fact that it still uses direct fire-wood heating. The size of the brewhouse combined with this technology makes it a world rarity. We will also introduce you to other elements of the brewhouse and present our brewery bell.

⨳12

HOP ROOM

We will introduce you to our hop storage room and tell you about the importance of hops in brewing.

⨳13

COOLSHIPS

Together, we will visit our spacious cooling block where the journey of cooling freshly brewed beer on the coolships begins. You'll see our bottling machines and several exhibits of bottling equipment here. Additionally, the transmission apparatus will showcase the technology for distributing mechanical power throughout the brewery.

⨳14

SHOWER APPARATUS

This room of the brewery is dedicated to an exceptional exhibit: a preserved functional shower cooler apparatus used for cooling wort. We rescued it from the brewery in Nová Paka in 2002.

Photogallery

⨳15

COMPRESSOR STATION

We will show you a set of functional air compressors with their own distribution system. You'll see the old manual flywheel elevator and original transmissions connected to older steam engine distributions.

Photogallery

⨳16

FERMENTING CELLAR

In our fermenting cellar, we will introduce you to the beer fermentation process. You'll learn about how fermentation occurred, what a fermenting vat was, how the vats operated, and how cooling was done using ice floats and the so-called "ajskosna."

Photogallery

⨳17

LAGERING CELLARS

In our brewery cellars, we will show you how beer maturation and aging were carried out, as well as how brewery cooling technology used to function with ice. You will also have the opportunity for a tasting of the Černokostelecké beer from our microbrewery.

BREWERY COURTYARD

In our brewery courtyard, you will see the cooperage and learn about the cooper's craft and the production of brewery barrels. Together, we will visit the exceptional landmark of our brewery courtyard, the windmill, and you will see an exhibit of a functional ice elevator.
